Description: a consortium of entrepreneurs (Matthias Goldenberg, Pierre Escrieut & Thibaud Elziere) has acquired NoSmoke – the maker of the iconic Moke car (beloved with beachcombers & holidaymakers the world over). The France-based company is renamed Kate – inspired by “Kei” cars (which account for 40% of registered cars in Japan), aimed at maximum practicality in minimum space. The Kate “Original” will go on sale this summer at a starting price of approx. €25k. It will be delivered in 3 different trims (Lite, Medium & Extended) & 2 electric motors with a range of 110-240km & a maximum speed of 70-90km/h. As for making it your own, the Original will be available in 23 colors & slated to offer a slew of customization options. The Kate team is also working on a further model dubbed “K1”, though representatives aren’t revealing any details at the moment. <Source: tech.eu>
