Israel-based, CaPow is a “perpetual power solutions provider”. The firm has developed tech to power autonomous mobile robots (AMR) by induction, thereby removing the need for/ replacing large batteries with its small power bank (said to be easily integrateable into both existing & newly designed robots), which saves up to 90% of weight & generates “free space” on the said (customers can also choose to keep their current batteries, of course). The system works by putting (“induction”) stickers on the facility floor (no excavation needed) (CaPow’s “Floor Planner” tool calculates optimal sticker layout) & (“receiver”) stickers on the robots (placeable in any direction, no electronic interference with additional robot components). The AMRs are then powered as they move over the floor stickers (the power bank is activated only between stickers), which results in 100% uptime (i.e. no more downtime to recharge). Think “greater flexibility, reduced OPEX, increased ROI”, CaPow aims to save 20% of the extra costs usually associated with storing AMRs, as well as replacing & recycling their batteries (ps: CaPow claim that while other wireless energy solutions exist, those still require charging stations, which it doesn’t). Founded in 2019 by Mor Peretz (CEO), Ofir Ganani (COO), Eli Abramov (VP R&D) & Alon Cervera (Chief Scientist), CaPow is chaired by energy tech expert Amir Fishelov, and advised by former Amazon Robotics leaders Vikas Enti & Nils Alstad. BGN, the commercialization arm of Ben-Gurion University, is also supporting CaPow go-to-market. <Source: therobotreport.com, prnewswire.com, techfundingnews.com, vcbay.news, ecoinventos.com>
