Estonia-based, VOOL provides EV charging solutions for private & business customers (clients include e.g. Europcar, ELMO Rent & Hansabuss). The hardware & software is fully developed in-house. It includes a charger (which can come with both plug & socket types, to cater to any EV model) + a power management hub (which load balances incoming electricity & tracks electricity prices) + a (B2C) app (which lets users set EV charging times based on electricity prices & allows them to monetize their private EV charging station by making it available for public use) + a (B2B) web platform & admin portal , all of which work together as a system or can be used independently. With the new funding (in addition to a €3M grant from the EIC Accelerator in 2022), VOOL is on track to install 20,000 charging stations in 2023 & expand its reach into new European markets. Worth mentioning here, according to research from McKinsey, Europe will need at least 29m private charging points by 2030, which represents a 77x increase from the estimated 375k charging stations available in 2021. Founded in 2018 by Juhan Harm (CEO), Sander Vahtras (CPO) & Hindrik Kilter (CTO), VOOL currently operates in the Baltics & Finland, & employs ~30 people. <Source: techfundingnews.com, eu-startups.com, investinestonia.com, emerging-europe.com, techhq.com>
