ULU acquires iMoto, a telematics supplier for cars, e-bikes & last-mile delivery vehicles

Netherlands-based (with offices in the UK & China), iMoto is a telematics (hardware & software) supplier for cars, e-bikes & last-mile delivery vehicles. The startups products include: “CMM1” – for e-bikes & even stationary assets – provides LTE-M connectivity, GPS/ GNSS for global positioning, CAN-bus connection (a message-based protocol that allows ECUs to communicate with one another) (non-standardized data from <1,000 distinct car & e-bike types are available in the CAN-bus library of iMoto), internal & external power supply, on-board antennas as well as over-the-air updates, “CMM2 & 3” – a spruced-up version of CMM1 for cars & last-mile delivery vehicles. Founded in 2015 by Sander Richardot (co-CEO) & Hielke Ytsama (co-CEO), iMoto’s solutions have been included in <130,000 mobility assets since then. iMoto also offers a white-label fleet manager/ car tracker dubbed Cartracker, which is said to have <15,000 active subscriptions.
