For small & large enterprises, implementing AI solutions across a company’s data stack is still complex & expensive. While deep learning has showcased its ability to understand unstructured data, AI tools have yet to catch up (e.g. most emerging ML Ops tools tend to be centered around different proprietary frameworks – making interoperability hard – & often come with a hefty price tag). On the other hand, building in-house AI solutions requires massive financial resources & multiple teams. So, instead of building yet-another walled garden, UK-based Instill AI has launched a new (fully managed cloud) open-source project called “Versatile Data Pipeline” (VDP). With a “no to low-code” approach, it allows users to “Extract, Transform, Load” (ETL) & derive insights from unstructured data free from silos. Verdict? users seem to like it, as VDP racked up <600 stars on Github since launching just five months ago. Use of proceeds from will go towards hiring, aiming to 2x headcount this year. Instill AI was founded in 2020 by Phd’s Ping-Lin Chang (CEO) & Xiaofei Du (COO). <Source: techfundingnews.com, e27.co, tech.eu, siliconcanals.com, venturebeat.com>
