Founded in 2018 by Radoslav Stompf (CEO), Branislav Safarik (COO), Rastislav Kuba (CTO) & Vladimir Miskovsky (CMO), Slovakia-based Fuergy provides all-in-one energy solutions across a) smart battery storage, b) energy management systems (for production & consumption), c) electricity trading. It’s core product “brAIn” is a “behind-the-meter” energy storage/ modular battery system for the commercial & industrial sector: it uses lithium iron phosphate battery cells & comes in wall (4.8kWh/7.2kWh), rack (12-33.6kWh) or container (108kWh) models. The company claims braAIn can increase utilization of on-site photovoltaic (PV) energy by 90% (vs. 50% for basic battery systems). The firm highlights two brAIn deployments, i) a 432kWh system at an automotive factory, which had a payback period of 1.7 years & ii) a 864kWh system at a textile factory, with a capital payback period of 2.7 years. Both were commercialized under the (new) energy-as-a-service model (whereby customers pay no upfront fee for the installation). Other clients include steel company Zeleziarne Podbrezova & the Slovakia National Football Stadium. The new funding (to be disbursed over the next 3 years) will go towards further developing brAIn as well as expanding to Czech & Polish markets. <Sources: ain.capital, energy-storage.news, trend.skceskenoviny.cz, vestbee.com>
